Meet the Lava Leaf Family and Founders
Community Garden Rows 1,2,3
Growers: Aubrey and Mike
Growing: Forbidden Cake
Mike and Aubrey were the first to test and prove to us that this community or sharecropping model was possible with the right committed partners on board. Mike is a hard working dude that knows how to grow great herb. Aubrey can outwork most anyone and is not afraid of a big harvest.
Community Garden Row 1,2,3
Grower: Sherill Call
Growing: Forbidden Cake
Sherill's aura is a vortex of positive energy. As a true nature lover cannabis cultivation was right up her alley. She literally and figuratively helps us all grow! Now Sherill is sharing knowledge and setting the pace for the newer additions to the team.
Community Garden Row 4
Growers: Ryan and Billy
Growing: Strawnana
The Ganja Geeks are two buddies with a passion for plants and cannabis culture. In addition to growing big badass plants and a big bad ass beard Ryan has a heart of gold! He has fought to defend his country and defends the garden from bad vibes. Ryan or Billy would hesitate to help out or share knowledge with anyone in need. All that love he radiates and encodes the trichomes. Billy is a hardworking farmer that knows his bugs which makes him an asset to the whole community. He helps us know if we should keep or kill when it comes to creatures that crawl or fly. Billy and Sherill are usually racing to see who replys first when this information is needed.
Community Garden Row 5
Growers: Jasmine and Jacob
Growing: Apples and Bananas
This power couple grows all day and goes home to grow into the night. Their plants never lack attention and they have been known to grow some strait 🔥 indoors and out. They love each other and they both love Mary Jane. As of December 2023 these two are also partnered with Lava Leaf to bring some world class rosin to the people.
Community Garden Row 6 & 7
Growers: Quin and Thao
Growing: Tye Dye, Jack Herer, and Jack Fruit
Quin is a canna business legend and has been helping people level up their grows all over the south, southwest and west coast since back in the day when forums were the only way to communicate with other growers. His better half Thao (pronounced Tao) is always smiling and when the going gets tough she steps up and tackles the job.
Community Garden Row 8
Growers: Collin Beck and GG Chaupet
Growing: Blue Alien and Sugar Mama
These two brought down a good crop and put up some good numbers considering it was their first year farming at scale. The stars aligning led to GG meeting the farm dad (Steve) at the parts store was the beginning. GG is a nurturing soul and adds an artistic flare to everything she does. She even stylizes plant tags, post it note messages, and white board notes. Collin has a natural green thumb and he didnt let a few dirt bike injuries slow down his bud stacking. They were both welcome editions to the farm for 2023.
Community Garden East End Row 9
Growers: Krista and Seth
Growing: GMO Punch and Blue Berry Muffin
The Stoke Show half row produced some hot fiya thanks to Krista and Seths hard work. Having never grown cannabis at scale these two were surprised by just how much love and attention cannabis plants require when farming at scale. However they are both full of grit and they stuck to it and gained some serious flower power and knowledge this season.
Community Garden West End Row 9
Grower: Aaron Kahwajy
Growing: GMO Punch & Blueberry Muffin
Aaron "Chingon Malone" Kahwajy dug in and strait handled business at Lava Leaf and at Lauter Haus Brewing this season. He was a great team player and kept his vibes high all season long. Even though he was always smiling he definitely was not playing around. Thank you for being so present and maintaining flexibility and strength Chingon Malone your plants were reflective of your dedicationa and stregth.
Community Garden Row 10
Grower: Daniel Gonzales
Growing: Road Head and Strawnana
Daniel is an artist in every sense of the word. He is meticulous in his practices and is a naturally gifted grower. When he pops a pack of seeds you can bet he will manifest a winner and find that flavor. Born and raised in San Juan County and true to his roots Daniel is not afraid of hard work or to get his hands dirty on a hot day. That being said clean your mess or he will mess you up! Just kidding. or am I? It's best not to test it but do test these flowers because they will have it all.
Community Garden Row 11
Growers: Brandy and Ryan
Growing: Brandy Wine Bandit, Strawnana, and Sugar Mama
Another Lava Leaf Organics power couple, Ryan and Brandy have been growing their own bombness in living soil with the New Mexico sunshine for quite some time. Luckily for Ryan and Lava Leaf Brandy is a 100% ride or die wife and supported this adventure. Now, in addition to holding down full time jobs and raising kids together these two are also maintaining a large and perfectly manicured section of canopy at our farm. I really don't think these two are capable of slacking off or half assing a project.
Community Garden Row 12
Grower: Jen and Brad of Naughty Nugs
Growing: Puppy Chow
Jen absolutely crushed her second season after being rookie of the year last year. We knew a few things about Jen going in. First she was willing to learn and follows through on anything she commits too. One of her secrets to success is that she gives her plants hilarious pep talks and loves them as much as humanly possible. Another is secret to success is pushing her husband to his max potential as a laborer. We are thankful she and Brad are a part of out community here at Lava Leaf.
Lava Leaf Retail Managers
Billy (L) and Jon (R)
These two friendly gents have amazing product knowledge and they love sharing it. We are very thankful that these guys never rush people and always help them find what they want or what will they will enjoy and benefit from the most. Both of these guys have really stepped up and taken the Lava Leaf dispensary to a new level.

Billy's cultivation experience serves him well as he helps to run our retail and wholesale operations. Billy makes sure that the operation stays running smoothly and continues to refine systems at the store.
Jon has an amazing talent for connecting with people and usually remembers their product preferences as well. Making people feel welcome is one Jon's super powers and were thankful he is using that power to help us grow this community. If you have not seen the space or met these guys please treat yourself and pay us a visit.
CFO
STEVE MARTINEZ
Since the companies inception and throughout the life of his sons, Steve has always set an example of what it means to work hard, to give your best and to do what you say you will do. Steve can fix most things especially if it has a motor or is made of metal. He handles technical design and fabrication for projects around the farm. Steve is no stranger to giving good fatherly advice or moral support to anyone in need. He embodies coolness and is as original as they come.
COO
Mitchell Martinez
On 4-20-88 a plant whisperer named Mitchell was born. Figuratively speaking he has green and purple trichome covered thumbs. He uses a good balance of intuition based on experience and scientific data to feed the soil and in turn the plants. The very high terpene levels in tested flower he grew in past years has put the Lava Leaf Collective (formerly Mothers Meds) on the top of the list of top shelf cannabis producers.
CEO
Tony Martinez
Tony has been inspired by the healing power of the plant and its ability to elevate the consciousness of those who partake responsibly. Tony sees the cannabis business as an opportunity to live in a way that honors and rewards personal drive and ambition without sacrificing the highest and best good of the collective. "To put our business model in terms of geometry, we are building a toroidal field and occupying the center rather than a pyramid and sitting at the top.
